A media wall is a bespoke plasterboard feature built around your TV, fireplace and display shelving. A.W Drylining designs and builds media walls on a metal stud frame, finished in plasterboard and skimmed to a flawless, paint-ready surface.
Every media wall is made to measure — from the TV recess and fireplace opening to the number and position of display alcoves, downlighting and cable routes. We coordinate with your electrician so sockets, lighting and fireplace feeds are built in neatly from first fix.
Because a media wall is built from plasterboard on a stud frame, it can be tailored to any room and any size of TV or fireplace. Fire-rated board is used around the fireplace opening, and the finished wall can be painted, wallpapered or finished in your chosen colour for a seamless, high-end look.
Our Media Walls Process
- 1
Design & Set-Out
We discuss your TV size, fireplace, shelving and lighting, then set out the frame to suit your room and dimensions.
- 2
First Fix Frame
We build the metal stud frame, form the TV recess, fireplace opening and alcoves, and allow for electrics and lighting.
- 3
Boarding
Plasterboard is fixed to the frame, with fire-rated board used around the fireplace opening, and all edges finished clean.
- 4
Finish & Handover
Joints are taped and filled or skimmed, downlighters and fittings are coordinated, and the wall is handed over ready to decorate.

A media wall is a custom-built plasterboard feature wall that houses your TV, electric fireplace and display shelving in one seamless, made-to-measure unit.
Can you include an electric fireplace?+
Yes. We form the fireplace opening and use fire-rated board around it, working to the fireplace manufacturer's clearances for a safe, neat install.
Do you fit the lighting and electrics?+
We build in the routes and recesses for downlighters, sockets and fireplace feeds, and coordinate with your electrician for the first fix and final connections.
Can a media wall be made to fit my room?+
Yes — every media wall is built to measure, so the size, number of alcoves, and TV and fireplace position are all tailored to your space.
